UK diary manufacturer Letts is to acquire the Filofax Group from US parent Day Runner for £17 million. Day Runner purchased Filofax for £51 million in 1998 but the organiser manufacturer was put up for sale after the parent company ran into financial difficulties. Last year Filofax closed two UK factories and cut 130 jobs. The group will have a combined annual turnover of £55 million and the Filofax business will continue to trade independently.
